Damage to third parties property:
Your dog got a little too excited about your guest and messed his pants? You are insured.
Damage to rental property and furniture:
Your dog has chewed up your landlord's couch? No problem, you are covered.
Your dog sitter:
As long as your dog sitter is not acting on a professional level he is also covered under your policy

Damage to your own property:
If your dog damages your own belongings it is not covered
Broken glass in your own home:
If you’re renting a flat, glass breakage isn’t covered. You can get household insurance to cover glass.
Damage that occurred over a long period:
Damages such as daily scratches on parquet floors caused by your dog are not covered by dog liability insurance.
